In the context of this pandemic, blockchain has the potential to become an integral part of the global response to coronavirus by tracking the spread of the disease, managing insurance payments and maintaining the sustainability of medical supply chains and donation tracking pathways.”

Between 2009 and 2017, more than 176 million patient records were exposed in data breaches. Credit card and banking information were stolen, as well as health and genomic testing records.
