Tempo Beverages Cyprus Ltd is one of the largest beverage companies in Cyprus and the official distributor of Heineken’s global portfolio. Part of this is Alfa beer, one of the oldest beer brands in Greece. Amongst others, Tempo Cyprus’s portfolio includes Pernod Ricard brands such as Chivas Regal, Absolut, Glenlivet, Jameson, Ballantine’s, Havana Club, Beefeater and others.
Tempo had an overall objective of re-engaging existing customers & enhancing brand loyalty, and they wanted to experiment with NFTs, as the optimal marketing tool for such goals. So, to directly engage with its consumers, Tempo – Alfa beer launched its NFT campaign, #εBEERιες”, which is a pun between the Greek word “εμπειρίες” which means experiences, and the word Beer.
This NFT campaign was part of a series of several promotional events during the summer of 2022 for Alfa Beer.
During these events, labels with QR codes were issued through block.co’s platform and given by Alfa beer to their consumers. By scanning these codes, holders received an email link to claim the NFT. What’s cool was the simplicity of the minting and claiming of those NFTs, which was streamlined through blockco’s platform, and the audience that engaged did not need to be blockchain or Web3 savvy.
What’s the real-world utility of NFTs over here? Alfa beer NFTs provided several benefits in the form of merchandise, access to events, and other exclusive experiences to the NFT holders. Hence the experience aspect of the event!
