Alexis is a professional with over 25 years’ experience in C-suite positions in Accountancy, Finance, Electronic Banking, Electronic Banking Software, Media and Electronic Content Production industries. He currently also serves on the board of Directors of Grant Thornton Cyprus’ Distributed Ledger Technologies business unit. Alexis is a Fellow member of the ICAEW and has a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Nottingham in Industrial Economics and Accountancy. He is also a member of UNIC’s MSc in Digital Currencies program.
Konstantinos, the creator of Block.co’s technology, is a computer scientist with 20+ years of experience. He has worked in academic research in multi-agent systems and service-oriented architectures for about a decade and following that he worked in the industry as a software architect and engineer for several years and in several domains; from bioinformatics to finance.
Currently, and for the last 6 years, he is focused solely on blockchain technologies as a consultant. He is teaching and leading several research and development teams in both academia and industry. He is also an open source contributor and an active member of local Bitcoin communities, organizing meetups and presenting in events.
Having studied Economics and Business Administration, George has a 10-year track record in financial services, is a certified portfolio manager, holder of CySEC professional competence certificate and has served most his career as an executive for Cyprus Investment Firms. George discovered Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in 2013, once the Cyprus banking crisis unfolded and started mining bitcoin at home using ASIC miners until 2015. Since then he has collaborated with crypto-exchanges, wallets, KYC/AML, CRM and various fintech solutions.
George is currently, a founding member of the Cyprus Blockchain Association, the President of Decentralized Chapter Nicosia, a market analyst, as well as a proprietary trader and investor. George has been in the forefront of the adoption movement of blockchain and cryptocurrencies in Cyprus, being extremely proactive in the organization of local meetups, lectures and presentations and bringing experts together to share a common knowledge pool.
Mark has been passionately involved in sourcing blockchain solutions and trading BTC since 2012 from Australia. Before stepping into the world of financial technology and renewable energy projects, Mark was trained in and worked for Standards Australia as a Project Manager and his position was to oversee various sectors and prepared AS/NZS standards and the adoptions of IEC/ISO standards. Mark is very familiar with the standardization process and understands the burden standards organizations and standards compliance companies face ensuring standardization compliance.
Mark also advises a number of traditional corporate finance funds whose clients seek to utilize or invest into blockchain technology. Mark has over 6 years’ extensive experience in governmental relations in Africa, project management, budget management, and KYC/AML compliance. Studied Diploma at Law, University of Sydney / Legal Professions Admissions Board of Australia. Diploma of Real Property (TAFE).
Vasilis has always had a keen interest in Computer Science throughout his life. He started working on programming projects since he was a teenager and hasn’t never considered changing paths. He has worked with various startups in several domains, varying from telecommunications to tourism, to genomics, handling the whole stack of applications and primarily focusing to deliver a high-quality user experience.
Currently, as a blockchain developer and enthusiast, Vasilis is focusing on exploring applications and use cases of blockchain technologies and ways to apply them in handling user needs in a transparent and usable manner.
